Commissions
One of the things I love most is painting on commission. Every once in a while, someone will connect with a piece I've already done, but that can sometimes feel like catching lightning in a bottle. On the other hand, when I'm able to present someone with a specifically requested piece that represents something special or important to them, the emotional response tends to be significant. And honestly, there's nothing that makes me happier than making others happy with my art.
So What Kind of Stuff Can You Paint/Draw?
I'm up for any challenge. In fact, while I love painting animals, portraits, landscapes, and the like, I especially enjoy working on something that is totally out of the ordinary. So if you have an odd or unusual request, please hit me with it.
That said, I'm an animal lover, and I get wanting to have your fur baby immortalized, or memorialized. Here are a few of the animal paintings I've done on commission:
But when considering a request, you are only bounded by your own imagination. Would you like to have a painting or pencil drawing of any of the below?
- Your current or childhood home
- A photograph that holds particular importance to you, maybe of a vacation or family gathering
- The skyline of your favorite city
- The logo or stadium of your favorite sports team, or an iconic moment from your team's history
- A realistic close-up rendering of your favorite food, drink, or snack
- A scene from one of your favorite classic films
- A portrait of your favorite celebrity, living or dead
- The heads of four people close to you painted onto Mount Rushmore
These are all just hypothetical suggestions to get your juices flowing. Seriously, come at me with whatever.
How Much Will This Run Me?
I can work to fit your budget. In fact, the way I prefer to go about it is for you to start by giving me your ideal budget, then I can let you know the options at that price point, in terms of size, material, medium, and complexity. Whether it's an 8x10 sketch or an oversized acrylic painting, I'd love to have the opportunity to create something unique for you.
What If I Can't Really Think of Anything I Want?
Well, do you know other people? Giving someone an original piece of art for a birthday or Christmas present (or just because) is a super original and always appreciated gift, especially when the subject being painted is something to which the recipient already has an attachment. Maybe your mom would love a painting of her grandkids. Perhaps your bestie would enjoy a pencil drawing of the two of you on your last trip to Vegas.
