A Half-Ass Job

A half-ass job of an ass, i.e. half an ass. 

This was a bit of a departure for me in terms of approach and technique. I applied broader brush strokes, and wasn't as concerned with capturing every detail from the original image (which, for anyone who's concerned, was just some rando on Wikimedia, which is surprisingly raunchy in some places). I also left some of the darker solid lines, especially around the, erm, nether region, unblended, which is also atypical for my work. I felt like I could get away with it in this case, considering the title. I actually like the way it turned out though. I plan to continue experimenting with style as I progress in my artist's journey. 

I also (and this should not surprise most of you) plan to begin incorporating more humor into my work. While I enjoy simply recreating images from life, stuff like this is more up my alley. Pun intended. 

By the way, I showed this painting to my son Oliver, thinking that, with his four-year-old sensibilities, he would find it hilarious. He got angry and told me that butts aren't funny. He has so much to learn.
